Muse is short for the 'Museum of Rock 'n' Roll'. They took it as a name after singer Matt Bellamy went through an unmarked door at said museum and saw an old waxwork of Johhny Rotton half way between being resculpted as Radiohead's Thom Yorke and thought "That's the image for me"

In the adjoining rooms, Kelly Jones from the Stereophonics was being sculpted out of the left overs of John Lennon's arse and the Westlife callender was being shot using their waxworks so as not to have to pay them any royalties from it.

The ringtone on Chris from the band's mobile phone is 'Plug in Baby' by Muse. He's still never been recognised by a member of the public, though.
Matt's skin when touched gives a similiar sensation to being stung by a nettle. Because of this, he styled his hair in a spiky way such that it is supposed to serve as a visual warning to would-be predatory ladies.
Muse met after Matt decided to save money by sleeping on the beach whilst backpacking in Thailand. However, whilst he was asleep, a big wave came and swept him away.
When he awoke, he found himself washed ashore at Scarborough where he met the other two who were leaving planks in the ocean in the hope of crashing a ship.
During gigs, Matt insists that the rest of the band play their instruments at the back of the room whilst he has the whole stage at the front to himself.
In Japan, Muse are considered a novelty band, similar to how DJ Otzi, Falco and the Rednex are here.
They got this reputation after performing their version of "Feeling Good" on the Japanese equivalent of CDUK because, for some reason, over there singing through a megaphone, bowing arrogantly after the song and pushing over your drums rather than actually breaking any of your instruments on what essentially is a kid's show anyway is considered hilarious.
If you listen to almost any of their songs, you'll hear Matt inhaling loudly between every line. Asthma.
